CONTACT CONNECT CHIROPRACTIC
Now you know more about us, how can we help you?
Born and raised in Christchurch, Matt had never seen a chiropractor before studying at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
He was drawn to the profession while playing competitive football around Christchurch in his teens and seeing how different sports professionals could help athletes improve their performance.
While at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Matt graduated with his now wife Alex, and together they moved to Australia to work for one of the largest chiropractic practices in the Southern Hemisphere.
Being part of Australia’s largest chiropractic network means Matt has experienced just about everything. From working in urban centres to rural, from children to the elderly, from peak performance athletes to people with debilitating health conditions, Matt has found this all incredibly rewarding.
Matt and Alex returned home to Christchurch to start their family and found Connect Chiropractic, their dream practice. Matt sees this as an opportunity to reconnect with the Christchurch communities he’s known and loved all his life. He’s looking forward to helping you all reach your health goals.
Alex’s first passion was becoming a professional snowboarder. Like all athletes, competitive sports took a toll on her body, and seeking care for her injuries made her feel like she’d been through the mill.
Finally, she visited a chiropractor, who helped her understand how her spine and nervous system were connected, as well as connecting her to part of a community. Valuing how that chiropractor made her feel part of something, Alex travelled to New Zealand and studied at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.
After graduating with Matt and taking up chiropractic positions in Brisbane, Alex continued studying, taking many post-grad courses focusing on babies and pregnant women.
Now a mother herself, Alex recognises how intense childbirth can be for both mother and baby. She loves and finds it incredibly rewarding working with pregnant women, mums and newborns around Christchurch, making sure everyone gets a great start at life.
Henrik was born in Sweden and didn't know anything about Chiropractic until he spent a weekend in Barcelona. He happened to hear a speech from a well-known chiropractor in Europe and instantly fell in love with the philosophy behind chiropractic. Having always been a health conscious individual he could see how chiropractic care and looking after our spine and nervous system could be the missing link in so many people's health and happiness journeys.
A couple of months after that speech, Henrik had left Sweden and was studying at the Barcelona College of Chiropractic deepening his understanding and love for the profession. During his time in Barcelona he met his now wife Bridget, who is originally from Christchurch, they then chose to settle back here where Henrik could continue to pursue his chiropractic dream.
It's Henrik's mission to connect brains to bodies, to help people realize and reach their full potential through the art, love and science of chiropractic care. His desire is to serve in a way that not only gives back to the community and those around him but also one that gives back to a profession that has already impacted and given him so much.
