WHO SHOULD YOU SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

Anyone! Everybody and anything that has a spine and nervous system can benefit from chiropractic adjustments. At Connect Chiropractic we recognise that everyone is different, everyone has different preferences and different health goals. We adapt our care to exactly what will work best for you. From newborns, all the way through to the elderly, chiropractic is an excellent addition to your health.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO FIX MY PROBLEM?

The speed of progress and recovery is very dependent on what your problem is, how long it has been there for and how far you’re willing to go to improve your health and wellbeing.

Everyone’s healing journey is unique. How one person progresses through care can be very much different from the next.

DO YOU COVER ACC?

At our practice we don’t discriminate whether someone’s problem is because of an accident or simply due to wear and tear over time. Thus because of that we don’t utilise ACC, we instead run a Koha system so that people can pay what is achievable for them.

IS CHIROPRACTIC SAFE?

Yes. Research supports both the safety and efficacy of chiropractic care. Chiropractic is a natural healthcare utilising no drugs or surgery. As with all things, there is a small risk of adverse effects. Although these are rare, prior to the beginning of care we will ensure that you are well informed of both the risks and the positive effects of receiving chiropractic adjustments.

HOW ARE CHIROPRACTORS EDUCATED?

Chiropractors are very well educated. The Bachelor of Chiropractic degree in New Zealand requires at least 5 years of full-time study with a special emphasis on anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, biomechanics, X-ray, spinal adjusting techniques, and related subjects.

After graduation Chiropractors are rewarded with the title Dr, recognising the length and breadth of their study. A chiropractor’s education is continuous, attending numerous seminars and conferences every year to stay current on the latest scientific research and techniques.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

We believe that chiropractic care should be affordable and accessible to everyone. Our Full Chiropractic Consultation and Examination cost is $90 and the follow-up Report of Findings is $65. For regular chiropractic adjustments, Connect Chiropractic utilises a Koha (pay as you can) Fee System. This means you simply choose what you pay! If you find that concept difficult, we have a guideline that will make it very easy for you. We can also discuss this further at Connect.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

Not at all. Chiropractors are recognised as primary health care providers allowing you to see us immediately, without a referral from your GP.

ONCE I START CARE, WILL I HAVE TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR FOREVER?

You have complete control over how regularly you see a chiropractor. We will recommend a care plan and provide lifestyle advice that will help you achieve your health goals.

We do recommend regular spinal checks to ensure your spine and nervous system is free from interference and is functioning at it’s best. Many of the greatest benefits of chiropractic are seen with regular care.

WILL IT HURT?

Everyone responds to care differently. In some cases inflamed tissue may cause discomfort during adjustments, it all depends on the severity of the situation. Tenderness is common as your body begins to heal itself.

IS IT OK TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR WHILE I'M PREGNANT?

Absolutely! Our chiropractors are specifically trained and experienced in providing gentle care for expecting women during all stages of pregnancy. Regular chiropractic adjustments during pregnancy may relieve pain and tension, create better birth outcomes, and help your body guide your unborn baby into an optimal position for labour.

WHY DO CHILDREN NEED CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

We believe that every child should have the opportunity for an optimal start to life, which is why we recommend children are checked by an experienced chiropractic professional from birth. Parents bring their children to chiropractors for feeding attachment issues, difficulty in turning their heads, tongue-ties and lip-ties, concerns with head shape, digestive disturbances, colic, disturbed sleep patterns, or repeated sickness.

DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARD?

No, we accept EFTPOS, CASH & BITCOIN

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CHIROPRACTOR, OSTEOPATH, AND A PHYSIOTHERAPIST?

The most important thing to know here is that each profession is vastly different. A chiropractor’s expertise is the spine, the nervous system, and how it affects the rest of the body. Because philosophies and practices do vary so much from practitioner to practitioner, you’re best to ask a few different practitioners from each of the three fields to get a greater understanding.
